Last weekend was a really nice couple of days. Although, it’s hard to have a bad day when you don’t have to go to work! Weekends like this remind me why I like not having children. I just really enjoy the freedom of being able to sleep in, do whatever I please and not feel like I’m wasting my time. For me, it is true bliss! Being the nice aunt is really the best job for me.
This was a super productive week for us. Between having our wedding tasting, buying Dale a whole new wardrobe (hello end of financial year sales!) and the usual hospital runs to see my brother, we got a lot done! So it was nice to have some down time. I had an eyelash/eyebrow appointment on Saturday to make sure my yeti brows were under control & Dale came to meet me in Gordon once I was done. We had a great morning sitting in Pablo & Rusty’s eating their delicious B&E’s and drinking coffee in a way that it may as well have been put into an IV.
It was surprisingly nice weather considering it’s winter here – blue skies and just the slightest chill to the air – and it made for perfect ‘hanging around’ weather. These kind of weekends make me appreciate how wonderful my life is – sharing my time with a handsome man, living in an area that isn't too busy and having enough income that we can just sit in a café drinking endless cups of hot deliciousness. It is more than I ever expected to have when I was young, so I really do treasure it.
I wore my glitter sneakers for a large portion of the weekend. I've been eyeing them off, waiting for the right chance to debut them. Surprisingly, there aren't that many occasions where sneakers covered in glitter are appropriate foot wear. Strange, huh? Who would have thought…
I do love them though. They’re comfortable & just so freaking cute. When I saw them in Kmart I knew they belonged in my glittery shoe collection. Speaking of my collection - I now have silver, gold, purple, red and blue sparkly heels. I think perhaps that might be too many? I’m now at a point where my shoes are more dressy than my wardrobe haha. 2014 has definitely been year of the sequins for me!
What did you get up to on the weekend?
