OK guys, let’s talk about watches. I don’t like wearing something on my wrist if I have to write or type so watches have fallen somewhat outside of my jewellery routine until now. There are very few watches that I actually like the look of and for the price they cost, very few I’d willingly buy myself. Some just look terribly old fashioned and others are just not my style.
Part of it was that I never used to have a ‘casual’ look in my wardrobe. But thanks to my Aussie Curves ladies I’ve started to embrace the casual look – even purchasing T-shirts & shorts! So I guess it was just the right time in my life to embrace the watch. And, well, I do enjoy knowing what time it is even if my phone battery is dead!
I found this gorgeous blue/teal coloured watch at Kmart. Yep, that’s right, KMART. Imagine my shock when I get to the register and it scans up at $9 too! Such a bargain, and I love it – I wear it all the time. I would never have thought to try a watch from Kmart, but I’m so glad I did. It’s cheap enough that I won’t feel bad when I grow tired of it, but looks expensive enough that everyone is shocked when I tell them where it’s from. It’s a win-win situation all around!
As a side note – does anyone else prefer the watch faces that have numbers? I have a friend who owns a watch with a blank face and, whilst it’s very stylish and modern, she sometimes doesn’t realise she has it on upside down until midday!
