Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am practical to my bones. I can’t justify a lot of frivolous purchases and everything I own needs to be workable. A huge portion of my closet is work/weekend interchangeable and the few things that don’t fit into that category are either staple casual pieces, too formal or pajamas.
This week’s Aussie Curves challenge is about using one piece in different ways, something I do A LOT!
First up is actually a triple take. It is my favorite comfy combo of black target skinny pants and a 5 year old black jumper that I love dearly. I wear this combo to work, to casual events and travelling. The only thing I changed in these looks were the shoes and scarves.
Look 1 – Paired with blue flats c/o Target & a blue scarf I bought from Sydney QANTAS domestic terminal a few years back. This look is, for me, the ultimate in laziness. On those days I wake up with very little enthusiasm for the outside world I find extreme comfort in wearing black and simply matching the colour range of the scarf & shoes I wear. To add to the laziness, I wore my hair in a soft braid down my back as that style doesn't require any bobby pins.
Look 2 – This time I added my pink leopard print scarf from Kmart (my favorite!!) and polka dot flats also from Kmart. I rolled the pants up so that they had a cuff half way up my calf and wore my hair in a teased high pony tail. It is a bit retro thanks to the cuffed pants & high pony, a bit girly thanks to the pink & very comfortable.
Look 3 – For this look I wore my purple sparrow snood from ASOS and my knee high peter pan flat boots from Payless. This was a great winter outfit (for Sydney winters that is!). Wearing flat boots meant I could walk around all day without any pain – which I love. The older I get the more I appreciate a comfortable pair of shoes. Seeing as it was a weekend, I went to the effort of actually blow drying my hair straight & left it out.
I hope you enjoyed this ‘Double Take’ post! And for those wondering, I will also be posting my catch up posts for the few Aussie Curves challenges I missed whilst on blogcation in the next fortnight.
