This week’s challenge is right up my alley – animal print! As a kid I always associated animal print with the TV show ‘The Nanny’ but as I’ve aged I’ve grown to love it again. I don’t have a lot of animal print in my wardrobe – a scarf, a pair of shoes, a cardigan – but I buy pieces that I love and that are generally not traditional animal print colours.
I think an important part of having a varied wardrobe is not to have too much of one thing. Animal print can be like perfume – wonderful used in the right quantities, but if you use too much it loses its appeal. I try to think this way about all my wardrobe purchases (although I’m totally guilty of owning the same pair of pants in different colours haha). For this reason I rarely wear more than one item of animal print at a time, and I make it pop by wearing a mostly monochrome outfit!
What I’m wearing: Black Eden jeggings from Dorothy Perkins (review coming next week) // Leopard cardigan from Glassons // black singlet top from Target // Black leather heels with bow detail from Wittner // Rainbow phone case from Colette Hayman.
This outfit was a Friday work look from before Christmas & it was really comfortable. Please excuse the bathroom selfie, but I usually forget to take pictures at home before I leave for work!
