Trevi Lakeside, Baulkham Hills

As you know, Dale & I recently became engaged. This means the beginning of many things, such as engagement party planning, wedding planning and house hunting. SOOO many things that need our attention! It's exciting & tiring all at the same time.

One thing we didn't do when we were dating is introduce our parents to each other. To be honest, the right situation just never presented itself & we were very hesitant to introduce them too early. But being engaged, we decided it was definately time we invite them both out for dinner as we really want them to be well acquainted by the time the engagement party rolls around!

I'm not going to lie, I was extremely nervous. Our parents are lovely people but you can never accurately judge how people will get along! Luckily, they got on like a house on fire! Probably helped by the 3 bottles of wine consumed! Haha.

Dale's parents suggested Trevi Lakeside as they go there quite regularly. Trevi Lakeside Italian Restaurant serves contemporary fine Italian dining in a beautiful lakeside setting located on the promenade in Norwest Business Park, Baulkham Hills, Sydney.

Let me start by saying wow - it was truly delicious. I was very impressed with the food & service! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, but here is a run down of what I had:

Entreé - Burrata ($18). Fresh buffalo mozzarella and mozzarella curd with mixed heirloom tomatoes, basil & aerated balsamic. It was creamy, delicious & tangy. I was totally in love with it.

Main - Lamb Rack ($36). Rosemary & garlic marinated lamb rack on Jerusalem artichoke purée, rosemary potato gratin, Jerusalem artichoke chips & red wine jus. I never cook lamb at home so I love ordering it when I'm out. And I was glad I did, it was so flavourful & tender. I should probably point out that I was ready to burst at this point. I was so full, but the food was so delicious!

Dessert - Creme brûlée with caramelised macadamias ($14). It was yummy, but I could only eat half before passing it over to Dale!

The evening also gave us a fabulous excuse to pop open the bottle of Moët we received as an engagement present from our friends Sam & Rachael.

All around it was a great night! Our parents loved each other, the food was delicious & the wine was flowing. We will definitely be back to Trevi! Sunny xx
