Genevieve's Dog Sweater!

Now that I am obsessed with crochet, I decided to try my hand at making a dog sweater for my Mothership's favourite child -- her sausage dog Genevieve. Hence why its so much longer than a regular dog jacket haha.

Didn't it turn out gorgeous! I have no idea yet if it will fit though. I took some measurements of Genevieve on Saturday before Supanova so lets hope my measurements were accurate! I chose pink, white & grey stripe and added this cute ruffle at the bottom and bow on the top of the back.

I used half double crochet for the body of the sweater & I think it was the best choice considering she's a small dog... I didn't want the gaps in the crochet to be too big as its supposed to keep her warm!

I'm really happy with how it turned out, especially seeing as it's my first creation past blankets & scarves!!

I used this yarn in Dusty Pink, Cream & Gray. Each ball of yarn cost $2.50 each and I bought 6 (with a $10 for 5 balls deal it worked out super cheap!). It's pretty thin yarn so I used two strands at a time with a 6mm hook (gifted to me by the sweetest lady in the whole world) but I easily could have only bought 1 ball of each colour & cut it up.

The measurements are 15 inches long, 11 inches wide (across the top only), 19 inches around the middle of the dog and 7 inches around the neck.
