A Perfect First Date

On Sunday I found myself on a truly perfect date. On the beautiful sunny Autumn day we met for lunch, then progressed to the Lindt cafe where we bought delicious macaroons (vanilla, pistachio & salted caramel). After macaroons we went to the aquarium (!!!) where I got to touch a baby shark, a shark egg & loads of anemones!

After all the excitement of the aquarium (totally my favourite place in the entire world) we walked across the harbour to the Chinese gardens. It was also Budmas (Buddha's birthday - my family call it Budmas because its the Buddhist equivalent of Christmas) so there were markets on & some great street entertainment to help occupy our afternoon.

Why was this a perfect date? Firstly, because there was so much going on we never ran out of things to point at, giggle about and discuss. Awkward silences are a massive mood killer. You never want to find yourself sitting there talking about the weather whilst awkwardly staring anywhere but at their face.

Secondly, it was just incredibly fun! Having coffee is all well & good but it is a part of most people's daily routines. Doing something different and entertaining keeps life interesting & turns a date into an adventure.

Needless to say, such a fantastic first date made a very favourable impression on me & I will definitely be accepting an invitation to a second date! It was the kind of first date that has you telling all your girlfriends who respond with 'Ooo's and 'Ahhh's and comment on how dreamy he sounds haha.
