The Cambridge Satchel Company

Ever since I saw Gala Darling's new purple satchel (which was around Christmas 2009), I have desperately wanted one! However, seeing as I am a young single girl living alone in Sydney, I just couldn't justify spending so much on a bag when I have plenty of perfectly usable bags in my wardrobe!

Luckily for me, one of my new years resolutions (more to come in the next week on these...) was to start choosing quality over quantity when it came to my wardrobe. I am a fiend for buying cheap clothes, bags, shoes and jewellery to appease the budget gods. So this year I want to focus on saving money to buy the things that will last me years, not months.

My first 'quality' purchase for 2011 was to buy a Cambridge Satchel Company purple 15" satchel with my name embossed on it in silver. It should be delivered in about 6 weeks, so I'm literally counting down the days! The Cambridge Satchel Company is a U.K. based company which sells handmade old fashioned school satchels.

Those who know me, know I do nothing without intense research & assessment (occupational hazard of being an Analyst) and I left no stone unturned when it comes to seeing feedback from those who have purchased a satchel from the Cambridge Satchel Company in the past. I was quite pleasantly surprised to find that the only negative feedback I could find on them was in relation to the postage time. I could not find one single complaint about the product. Everyone's comments said the bags were flawless, and lasted years and years. They are also the kind of bags that just get better & better with age. Needless to say, I'm so frikkin excited!! haha.

Here are a couple pictures of the girls that originally inspired me to get a satchel. First is my original muse, Gala Darling! She's rocking a 13" purple satchel with 'Miss Darling' embossed on it in silver.

Next is the lovely Henrietta! She has a 15" satchel in brown. I am envious of the fact that she lives in the UK and gets cheap postage!!!!

And finally the crafty Ysolda (who might I add, made that dress she is wearing!). She is the proud owner of a 15" Satchel in red. I love how she plays up the school girl image!

I will give you multiple pictures of my new favourite thing as soon as it arrives :) Im thinking my next purchases from the Cambridge Satchel Company will be a red 11" satchel and a black 15" batchel for work with 'Sunanda' embossed on it in silver.

Super love & satchels,

Sunny, you didn't tell me I was on here! If it was a test to see if I read your blog too I guess I passed, haha

I really love the satchel in the purple colour, I may just have to save up all over again for one. Great post! :)
